Orkestrasse 2, Winterberg
Indian food of the finest, cooked on the premises by excellent staff. Wide range catering for juniors and senoirs too - can be eaten inside or on our terrace.
I’ve never been dissatisfied with this place. You can tell the Saag is fresh and the spices just right. Their naans and kulchas are crisp and chewy. They don’t use frozen vegetables that I have come across and their service is fast, friendly and fair.
Good biryani and tasty samosas
Horrible food that i have eaten in a long time. Naan was not cooked properly. Samosa were just stuffed with boiled potato, no any flavor or spices in it.
I visited Eugene on Christmas. A Taste of India was one of the few restaurants open in Eugene on Christmas Day. You can watch them preparing the food. Their work together is smooth and efficient. The pride they take in providing delicious authentic dishes for their diners is obvious. They were under pressure from DoorDash being unable to assign realistic pickup times to their drivers, yet they performed like an orchestra to produce a symphony of culinary delights very quickly. Simply the best. I was proud to serve their food at my feast.
Hands down the best Indian food I have had in the north west. I'd dare to say that it's perhaps the best Indian food I have had west of the Atlantic, barring the Michelin star chef in NYC.
Tried it cause figured maybe it's good like the old taste of india that was on amazon years ago and it was not good at all. Flavorless tikka masala. Really hard overcooked meat. This tastes like bad butter chicken, not tikka masala. Very dissatisfied l
Great food. Reasonable prices
I ordered via DoorDash and due to unforeseen circumstances, I didn’t get my food. I re-ordered via UberEats and the manager of the restaurant called me just to apologize and confirm that the order had been picked up, even though it didn’t get to me (which is fine! Life happens). I was just really impressed by the professionalism of the restaurant and will look forward to returning in person once the world is back to normal. ?
Amazingly delicious, flavorful and perfectly prepared authentic Indian food. Our favorites are chicken tikka masala, sag anything!, mango lassi and chai. Awesome service, reasonable prices and generous portions. Family owned and operated. Support this treasured local business!
The best Indian food in Eugene! Their Sag Paneer and Chana Masala are incredible. The Samosas and nan are excellent as well. Everyone loves their dal, lamb and Tandoori dishes and I really like the vegetable curry. The sauces are rich and flavorful. Also, their servings are generous- When you order takeaway you’ll get enough for an extra meal or two of leftovers.
Tasty and authentic
Great people a family of India the cook and the servers very nice people
Owners were very friendly, but the food was horrible. Overcooked naan and pakora. Naan was thin. Nothing has flavor. The Tandoori Chicken was downright nasty. I wish I had something positive to say about the food, the owners were super friendly, but can't. :s
For northern indian food it's the best in Eugene.
Best Indian food yet!
Chicken Korma and Chicken Curry were excellent. Polite staff. Highly recommend
The best food I've had for a very long time!
I got the lamb tikka masala and it was off the charts! The service was very good and I'll be sure to be going back again! Best take out I've had in a long, long time.
Absolutely astounding Indian food. I eat Indian on a regular basis and this is still the tastiest I’ve ever had!
This is THE BEST Indian Food in the entire area. Their Chicken Tikka Masala is AMAZING! They have gone above and beyond numerous times. I just want your entire restaurant and staff to know how much I appreciate everything you do and thank you for sharing such amazing food!
I absolutely love taste of India. I go every time I'm in the area!
Excellent food and service. The butter nan is spectacular with the mint chutney.
Considering the fast-food style setup, both the food and the service were great! A bit pricey for the portion sizes and not the best around, but if you want a quick bite, it's great!
Honestly the best Indian food in Eugene. Customer service was excellent. We ordered extra naan because we thought there wouldn't be enough in one serving for two people (that stuff is crazy good) and there was an excess of naan - which is a great thing !
Some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had! Would recommend to anyone!
Walking in the door you will immediately notice, this place smells wonderful! And the flavors are even better than the aromas! Staff was very friendly and helpful, service was quick and food is delicious!
It was really good. We had the Tikka masala curry, spicy, with both chicken and lamb. We also got the cheese appetizer and garlic naan. The curries were incredibly creamy, the chunks of meat were sizable and of good quality. We got both basmati rice and biryani rice as sides. I was a little worried about the raisins listed on the ingredients for the biryani but they weren't intrusive. The cheese appetizer was good, although I'm not sure I'd order it again. We ran out of naan bread as usual lol. We'll be back soon
Great food and great service! A staple of the Eugene food scene.
I absolutely love this restaurant. The food is so very good. It's a small restaurant and often busy, but take it out and bring it home.
Pretty good place for Indian food. It was very delicious.
I wasn’t sure if this was a self-service restaurant because I noticed a bussing cart behind where I was sitting stacked full of dirty dishes and discarded food. It was really close to my chair where I hung my raincoat and some of the dirty dishes touched my raincoat and I was totally unaware of it until I got up to leave. It was a disgusting sight to see all the piles of dishes just as we were leaving. It would have been best if that was put away somewhere else where people are not dining. I shared a non-vegetable thali with my boyfriend. It’s definitely more than enough for two light-eaters. The butter chicken is so rich and creamy! It was worth it just for the butter chicken alone. The other chicken curry on the thali was very salty and we ended up eating only a few bites of that. The samosa was standard. The dessert was delicious, but we were too full to finish it. If we were to return, we would just stick with the crispy, hot naan and the butter chicken! Remember to seat yourself away from the dirty dishes!
Very tasty butter chicken and shrimp biriyani
Surely a place worth trying, the food is awesome and fresh, the prices are affordable and it is constantly clean here. Keep up the good work.
Eugene has only a few Indian restaurant and sometimes you just need a hit of some good Desi food, and this place offers just that. Not over the top pricey, conveniently located close to the U of O campus, ample parking are some of the key selling points. Also as you enter you see and smell the chef concocting so many things at once, it feels like circus (in a good way). The seating is limited though. The food isn't the most authentic. I got a goat biryani, and peas in biryani for me are a big NO. I dock a star for that. This place is good for North Indian food (Punjabi cuisine) and I don't expect them to produce the best biryanis. However my friend ordered some Paneer Tikka masala and loved it.
Authentic Indian food with a very mellow atmosphere. Also open Christmas eve and day. The owner is very kind and takes pride in every dish
Best Indian we have had in the US in 13 years and being from England where Indian food is everywhere we know a thing or two about it. They were great at customizing the dishes due to dietary requirements and were very patient in explaining all the ingredients they used.
Great service!
Very small place to sit and eat, but the food was tasty.
I ordered the lamb curry and I have to say this is the BEST Indian food I have ever had. Given, I haven't gone to India and sat down with a family and tater their rendition. I highly recommend this. So so so good, oh my God. I want to bathe in this, if that makes any sense.
So yummy. My first time trying and it was great
Best Indian food ever! Amazing
I ordered 4 dishes. There w as s suppose to be rice with each dish but 2 rice were missing. The goat dish had 4 small pieces of goat. I COST ABOUT $15 2 of them were pieces that fell off bigger pieces. They were smaller than a quarter. IT WAS MOSTLY SAUCE. The naan (bread)was so thin that it had holes throughout and was very tough. The food did have a good flavor but the goat, naan and missing rice left me regretting that in ordered there.
new location, just as I remember it.
I love Indian food. Great people. Very welcoming and kind, eager to explain the buffet items and let me sample one. I could see a little of their kitchen area just behind the buffet area and wondered what was being stirred up in this enormous vat with lovely smells drifting towards me. Cute little set up. Near UO campus. Perfect lunch spot.
Two words. TIKKA MASALA!!!
Good food! Atmosphere is ok.
Oh my goodness! Unbelievable food. Butter chicken and the samosa are to die for!
Average Indian food at ok prices. Lunch was very fast buffet-style service, but the value was only so-so. The flavors in the food were rather muted, and the portions for the price were ok.
Amazing Indian food with awesome flavor! Best I've had
Fresh cooked food at a small authentic place. I have taken out from here each time I have visited Eugene and the food has been consistently good. I am happy to support this family run local business.
